WOW!!! What a terrific start to the new year!!!!
In February we presented Harrison Medical Foundation a check for $10,000 towards their “Healing Garden” plans. They are just starting the design phase; it is so exciting for us to be part of this wonderful project. We also presented Hospice of Kitsap County a check for $3,000 which will be used to support their In-school Children’s Grief Program. All these monies came from our net proceeds from “Bras for a Cause.”
In February, we were awarded the “Service Organization of the Year” by the Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce. The award Gala was held at Kiana Lodge and Dr. Michelle Cho Gip accepted the award on behalf of the group. We were all so proud of her and of our achievement.
There is so much more to look forward to during this year. We have already started working on Bras for a Cause 2008. We have booked the Kitsap Conference Center, which holds over 300 people!!! The date will be on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The community has already started asking about it and it will take all our efforts to make it even bigger and better than last year!!
Once again, I encourage all of you to get involved with our committee work. Our club continues to grow and we have so much talent within our group. We also have lots of areas people can get involved in our general committee work that serves the club’s needs beyond “Bras for a Cause.”
My sincere thanks for an incredible last six months. Your enthusiasm, creativity and dedication are an inspiration. It is what keeps our club moving forward and growing.
My best to all, President Pat |
